Changelog

What’s new.

What changed in goframe, newest first, each dated by the day the change was finished. Everything here is live today: the web app updates continuously, and the desktop app updates itself.

AI work is now measured in frames

  • Agent turns, generation and transcription use AI frames; editing by hand, captions, import and export never do.
  • Frames are shared by your workspace, and the balance sits in the editor’s footer.
  • Every agent run ends with a short receipt: what it did and the frames it used.

Desktop0.1.3

goframe for Windows and Linux

  • The desktop app now runs on Windows (x64 and ARM64) and Linux (.deb and AppImage) as an alpha, as well as on macOS.
  • An optional menu-bar or tray icon shows what the agent, exports and background tasks are doing, with a notification when they finish.
  • A welcome tour on first launch, a Settings window (⌘,), and the Mac stays awake while an export runs.

Desktop0.1.0 – 0.1.2

goframe on the Mac

  • A desktop app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs (macOS 12 or later): the same editor, updated the moment the web app is.
  • It updates itself in the background and offers to restart when an update is ready.
  • A download page with checksums, and a download mirror for Russia and Belarus.

Web app

Caption timing, word by word

  • A caption lane under the ruler shows every word as a small clip: drag it to retime, split or merge words, hide one.
  • The lane and the Transcript share the same words — fix one, and the other follows.
  • Add a page break by hand, so a caption never ends on a dangling word.

Web app

Russian, everywhere

  • Hundreds of remaining interface strings now exist in both English and Russian.
  • The Russian copy went through a two-pass review, with proper plural forms.
  • Dates and numbers follow the interface language.

Web app

Background tasks in one place

  • A header indicator lists transcription, cloud sync and motion-graphics optimization as they run, with progress, Cancel and Retry.
  • Finished tasks stay listed for 24 hours, and a soft chime tells you when a long one is done.
  • Recordings hours long now transcribe more reliably, with progress shown at every stage.

Web app

Transcripts without uploading the video

  • The browser takes out the audio track and uploads only that: a 70‑minute recording sends about 60–130 MB instead of the whole file.
  • Export progress moves from the first second, including while media is being prepared.

Web app

Transitions, in a Toolbox & VFX panel

  • 19 transitions in five groups — dissolves, slides, pushes, wipes and a cross zoom — with live previews on hover.
  • Drag one onto a cut and resize it on the timeline; an audio crossfade comes with it.
  • Favourites and search; what you preview is what you export.

Web app

Titles and shapes on the canvas

  • Add a title in one click and type on the canvas; give it a background, a shadow, an outline or a glow.
  • Six shape tools, including a bezier pen, with fills, strokes and point editing.
  • Titles stay editable when you export the edit to Final Cut Pro.

Web app

Record straight into a project

  • Record your screen, your camera or your voice, with a camera bubble baked into the recording — or save screen, camera and mic as separate, synced tracks.
  • Long takes continue in 30‑minute parts that import while you record.
  • Also: projects can be archived, or moved to Trash and restored within 7 days.

Web app

Closed beta: invites and a waitlist

  • After signing in, new accounts enter an invite code or join the waitlist.
  • Members invite friends from Settings; an invite link signs a friend in and applies the code.

Web app

Local-first media, built for big files

  • A dropped file appears in the media pool at once; duplicates are recognised, and one bad file never blocks a batch.
  • Moved or renamed files can be relinked, one by one or from a whole folder.
  • Cloud Sync stays optional and takes originals up to 50 GB per file.

Web app

Edit one project together

  • Invite people by link as editors or viewers; everyone works on the same timeline in real time.
  • See who is in the project and share one agent chat — prompts run one at a time.

Web app

Version history, like git

  • Every change is a version: sessions, snapshots, AI edits, and a “Before AI” checkpoint before every agent run.
  • Each version shows what changed — “+2 clips, trimmed 1” — and restoring one never deletes anything.
