AI frames

AI uses frames. Your edits never do.

Every AI step — an agent turn, a generated image or voiceover, a transcript — is measured in frames. What you do by hand, and what the editor does on its own, uses none.

Uses frames

  • Agent turnsEach prompt the agent works on, from the plan to the last edit.
  • GenerationImages, video clips, voiceover, music and sound effects.
  • TranscriptionMeasured by the length of the audio.

Never uses frames

  • Editing by handCuts, trims, keyframes, transitions, titles and shapes.
  • CaptionsStyles, word timing and burning them into the video.
  • Import and recordingFiles from your disk; your screen, camera and voice.
  • ExportRendered on your computer, in the browser.
  • Shared by the workspace

Everyone in a workspace draws from one balance.

  • Visible while you work

The balance sits in the editor’s footer; Settings → Usage shows what used it.

  • A warning before you run low

A banner tells you when frames are running low.

  • Running out pauses only the AI

The agent, generation and transcription wait for frames. Your projects, the editor and export keep working.

What exactly uses frames?

The AI: agent turns; generation — images, video clips, voiceover, music and sound effects; and transcription, measured by the length of the audio.

Editing by hand, captions, import, recording and export never use frames.

What happens when I run out?

Only the AI features pause — the agent, generation and transcription — until frames are added. The editor keeps working: open your projects, edit by hand and export.

Are frames personal or shared?

Shared. Frames belong to a workspace, and everyone in it draws from the same balance.

Where do I see what I’ve used?

The balance is in the editor’s footer. Settings → Usage breaks it down by the agent, generation and transcription, with a history.

Every agent run also ends with a short receipt of what it did and the frames it used.

Does exporting use frames?

No. Export renders on your computer, in the browser, so it never uses frames.

We’re a team or a company. How do we start?
